  • Mine is doing this occasionally as well. I usually open and slam the doors and it is all good. Very sporadic though, and I haven’t found a particular cause.
  • Hi mate, I can’t help much except to say I had the dpf light come on several times. I do a lot of highway driving and it hadn’t come on for 6 years . It didn’t want to go away with highway speeds so I dropped to 7th gear for a while and it went out …
  • What is it doing. I have just had a session of car park non starts where out of the blue the motor would just crank with zero interest in starting. Hours later it would fire up like nothing happened. Became increasingly common. Turned out to be the …
  • I just wrapped mine in some insulated silver foil stuff that was wrapped around some electrics on a building site. Some grey tape and a knife and it is good to go. Insulated better than any cover I think.
  • No, but I have one in the back seat which probably gets hotter in summer. I crack the windows on a hot day and have put up reflectors in the back seat glass. No issues or extra high usage at all.
  • Mine is a 2012 4cyl. I noticed the difference when I had it done but I am used to it now so I can’t really remember the difference. I did a head gasket from the egr cooler letting go so I had the egr block off done and I am happy now I did. I got to…
  • I never wanted a tune but had to have an egr delete so got a tune done at the same time. It’s fantastic . Mine was done at Yatala by one of crispmods associates. I strongly recommend the egr delete . It dill bite you eventually if you don’t.
  • It a nutshell no. Logic says it should be the opposite. Mine goes to 8 or so on the highway at 110. I am at 330000 kms and have had a dpf light come on once . A session of very high rpm highway driving cleared it , never to return. It make no sense …
  • I ran 6 bs which should be 14 mm2 from starter battery to auxiliary, and then 50 amp from battery to controller and then to fridge.
  • I have just done a tray dual battery for a fridge. I wired the second battery straight back to the starter to earth through there. Basically a50/50 split on opinions on whether this is the way or if it needs earthing through the chassis, it certainl…
  • Don’t know, but my amarok of similar age did this once. Out of the blue there was virtually no power until 2500 rom and then it took off. Did it for several sets of traffic lights and then was fine from then on. Almost as if the turbo was stuck and …
  • There is a key reset on the inside of the door that worked for me. Google amarok door reset and there is a YouTube video on the subject.

  • The egr coolant pipes should be diverted around the cooler and the joins should be very visible for leaks. There should be no need to leave the coolant going through the cooler. The plates should be blocking off the exhaust.
  • 7000 in the end but I got some extra parts like radiators fitted. I just posted on your other thread. Deano
  • I can only assume you have done a headgasket . I had the egr done with blocking plates and a tune but I did it after it went. It is now apparent damage was already done and I got another 12 months out of it before my headgasket went. I was losing co…
  • Yep, egr was blocked off by one of crispmods men but damage was obviously already done. This also created another problem as after the coolant pipes were diverted from the split egr the split water chamber was open to the engine bay and the exhaust …
  • Quick rundown on all my problems. Had the egr cooler let go a year ago and had it blocked off and tuned out but 12 months later it bit me by blowing the head gasket. Car went into limp mode, blowing steam, overheating and all sorts of ****. Had the…
  • I have spent so much money chasing fault lights and repairs i am past caring about illegal. I am sick of hearing “ you can only get genuine parts and that will be $5000 regardless of what part it is. On that note has anyone else got a rok on 300000…
  • Ute is back from a diagnosis session. The egr pump that is throwing the fault is the one in front of the turbo and now I have actually had a good look at it and follow the hoses it is easy to see why it is the egr pump. Just over $700 fitted for a g…
  • Hi drew. Does it get called egr pump and there is another auxiliary pump b or are they both called pump b? Deano
  • Cheers Luke. That is the same symptoms. Just need to find the right pump
  • No he didn’t. Going to a more local guy on Thursday with better diagnosis gear to try and narrow down which pump it is . I understand they appear to have 2 auxiliary pumps, I think. I don’t know which one is considered to be the egr coolant pump.
  • Have had mine back for a few days after new head, gasket , timing belt , radiator and inlet clean. It is a big difference in that it is so smooth again. Back to brand new smooth. It is almost as if diesels were designed to have good compression.&…
  • You get a warning light when it is over full as well.

  • they actually look pretty bad in the photos but i thought they would be worse. Not sure if I will notice a difference with it clean or if it will be overshadowed by just fixing the head gasket, valves etc
  • i think this worked
