Net4x4 VW Amarok Recovery Points

Well they have been a long time coming & I am still waiting on some final paperwork to come through but I can put up a few pics of how the recovery points project through the front standard bumper. These points will also fit a number of bullbars including Dobinsons, MCC & a few others.
They will also fit the ARB bars with a small amount of modding to the lower pan brace.
As with everything I make they are tested not just on a bench bolted to some angle but are tested on chassis sections & as I am heading up to Cape York for 4 weeks at the end of this coming week they are fitted on my Rok & will be getting real world testing as well.
Once I return from the Cape they will be going into production & will be available some time later in July.
Pre-orders are already coming in & those that have actually seen them in the flesh have been very excited to say the least.
The points will be $500 for the pair plus post.

Do they fit with a TJM bulbar?

    Be great if they do

Importantly, who's got recovery hooks/points that fit with an ARB bar? These don't seem to do so. Still standing by for some ARB fitting unicorns

Net4x4 will they suit the Xrox bar?

2Dogs they will fit the ARB bar with a small mod to the stone tray bracket.
bazza they will also fit the Xrox bar.
Indigo the TJM bar has its own points & even though they aren't rated they are strong enough. I may look into making a strengthening bracket for those that want it.

Hi Mark, what does a "small mod" entail?

2Dogs a hole will need to cut in the stone guard on the passenger side so you can access the recovery point & the stone guard bracket will need an extension to make it a bit wider so the recovery points can go between it & the chassis rail.

I picked up & canopy cheeeeap about 9 months ago in prep for the trip. It was dropped new in the box & had a bit of damage, nothing a few hours in the man cave couldn't fix like new.
I be putting up pics as we go as well as prep stuff in my build thread.

Yep, in at the laser cutters at the moment. Should have the first batch ready early October by the time they are welded up, zinc plated & powdercoated.

Ok. Before I order then, compatible with an OL winch bar? I take it they are chassis rail mounted?
  • 2Dogs2Dogs Senior Member

Ditto, provided that I know that they fit with an ARB Deluxe bar, I don't need to drill holes in my chassis and completely understand what needs to be trimmed re. guards etc, I'd be happy to order.

funky0 providing the Bullbar has no mounting plates on the outside of the chassis rails it should fit. You may need to re-drill some holes in the Bullbar plates to match up with a couple holes in the recovery points but as the recovery points are using larger bolt it'll only strengthen the Bullbar. There is only one 10mm hole that needs to be drilled but it is only in the front link behind the bumper indicated by the arrow in the pic below, no additional holes need to be drilled in the chassis rails at all. The passenger side point has 7 fixings & the drivers side has 5.

At the end of next week I will be videoing the final pull testing on actual chassis sections & put it up once I have put it all together. 2Dogs the points will fit with the ARB bars, a slot will need to be cut in the lower skirt on the passenger side & the drivers side hole might need a bit of tweaking. The lower brace holding the skirts will need widening as it mounts on the outside of the chassis rails but I will be looking at making an extension piece to accommodate that mod & should have that around the same time as the release or very near.

Exciting. So just to confirm, I can bolt a set of these points on with the standard bumper, then down the track if I choose to put an ARB bar on I will just need to cut a slot in the skirts and purchase one these extensions for the braces? I don't need a specific ARB compatible point with an extension piece on it do I?

    Cheers.

AlAmarok, yes the recovery points have been designed to fit the standard bumper & the same set will also fit with the ARB bar.
